Abstract

Power plant Unit I Sorik Marapi Geothermal Field owned by PT. Sorik Marapi Geothermal Power has inaccurate result data measuring mass flow rates of steam fluids and brine fluids on three HP Separator outputs. The result data mass flow rates are measured by differential pressure flowmeter type Venturi flowmeter and Annubar flowmeter for steam fluids and Orifice flowmeter for brine fluids actual in this field. Based on this, an evaluation was carried out according to BS EN ISO 5167, Part 1-4: 2003 about usage of differential pressure flowmeter devices. The efforts in this evaluation are mapping the problems found in the installed measuring instruments so it can be seen the use of measuring instruments according to standard, then evaluate the measurement of result steam fluids that are already read from the device and then, can determine best recommendations that can be given as improvements in the field. Successful research evaluations carried out on Venturi flowmeter and Orifice flowmeter, but not for Annubar flowmeter, because of constrained manufacturing data that has patents on measurement systems that they recommend. After the evaluation, result the mass flow rate of steam fluids, which is 61.45 ton/hr in A-261/263 and 70.60 ton/hr in A-264, is close to comparison in generator, which is 59.45 ton/hr in Unit SE 2 and 66.54 ton/hr in Unit SE 3 with accuracy 89%. As for the use of the brine fluid measuring instrument, it shows that the definite standard requirements are 22D at upstream length A-261/263 and 24D upstream length A-264, but in the actual SMGP field it is about 2 m for both. Based on the evaluation that has been done, recommendations for improvement that can be given to calibrate fluids flow for Venturi Flowmeter. Then, because the Annubar flowmeter is an insert type measuring instrument, the consideration of the tapping point becomes the main focus when flow is fully developed. As for the Orifice flowmeter, it is necessary to evaluate the metering against the straight-run requirements that have been installed for more precise brine fluids results.
