Abstract

In the production process there is a lot of subsurface water that is also produced, this water is called produced water (water cut). the process of purifying the produced air so that it can be reused and into the wild. In the purification process, the author uses activated carbon from palm fronds. Based on the research that has been done, the results obtained are turbidity values of 1.06 NTU, Oil and Grease 3 mg/L, pH 6.34, Ammonia 49.91 mg/L, Phenol 0.031 mg/L. Produced water that has been treated using oil palm midrib activated carbon media also looks clearer than before. The efficiency values for the turbidity parameters are 97%, Oil and Grease 96%, Ammonia 60.64%, Phenol 98.15% and pH 28%. Comparison of the results of the adsorption effectiveness of KAK and KAPKS was obtained after testing the two activated carbon samples. The efficiency of adsorption media for CAC is 70% feasible and KAPKS media is 76%. This shows that the activated carbon has the expected quality of activated charcoal, so it can be used as a filtration medium. From the characteristics of the KAK and KAPKS media, they have the same absorption capacity even though the KAPKS result value is better than the KAK value.
