Abstract

The cementing process is very important in oil and gas drilling operations. One of the most important things in the cementing process is seen from the quality of cement which can be determined from the value of the compressive strength and shear bond strength of a cement. Waste from meranti wood powder is quite a lot and has only been used a little. This test was conducted to utilize meranti wood powder into CMC additive which is expected to increase and determine its effect on the compressive strength and shear bond strength of class G drilling cement. To determine the effect of adding meranti wood powder CMC additives, tests were carried out with concentrations of 0%, 0,5%, 1%, 1,5%, and 2% By Weight Of Cement (BWOC). After the cement suspension is made, the cement suspension is put in and put into a water bath to dry for 24 hours. After drying the sample will be tested for loading using a hydraulic press. Based on tests using the meranti wood powder CMC additive, there was an increase and decrease in the value of compressive strength and shear bond strength in class G drilling cement. The optimum results obtained are at a concentration of 1.5%, where the compressive strength obtained is 2329,3303 psi and for the shear bond strength obtained is 346,5431 psi.
