Abstract
This study aims to improve the creative thinking of economic students of Class XI IPS1 at SMA Negeri 1 Pangkalan Kuras for the 2019/2020 academic year by implementing the Problem Solving Model. Through the classroom application, this research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) with the subject of this study are students of class XI IPS1 SMA Negeri 1 Pangkalan Kuras, totaling 37 students consisting of 18 female students 17 male students. The research was carried out in two cycles and each cycle had four stages, namely: planning, implementing action, observation, reflection. In the first cycle consisted of 3 meetings by doing assignments. The data collection technique for creative thinking is a test in the form of a task to think creatively. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the problem solving learning model shows that between cycle I and cycle II, so it can be seen from the average value obtained in cycle I is 70.4% with enough categories. While in cycle II 93.1% with very creative category. problem solving is able to improve the creative thinking of class XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Pangkalan Kuras. With the research conducted it can be concluded that the problem solving model is able to improve the creative thinking of class XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Pangkalan Kuras.
