Abstract

Industry is one sector that has an important role in regional development. Almost all countries view that industrialization is a must because it guarantees the continuity of the long-term economic development process with a high and sustainable economic growth rate that results in an increase in per capita income every year. Several studies on industrial development show that there is a close relationship between industrial development and the development of the economic and social structure of the community which then affects land use patterns which are expressions of regional or city structures. This study aims to examine the effect of industrial estate development on changes in land use patterns in the Lubuk Gaung Village area. This research uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches, so that the analytical method used in this study is a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis. Collecting data in this study used primary data in the form of interviews, field observations and documentation, while secondary data in the form of retrieving data from related agencies and literature studies. The rapid development of industry in the area resulted in changes in the pattern of land use in the Lubuk Gaung village, which before the development of the industrial area in the Lubuk Gaung village, the land use pattern in the Lubuk Gaung village was only dominated by agricultural and plantation land, and the livelihood of the local community was only dominated by farmers and laborers. farmers and a small part are farmers, ranchers and traders With the changing pattern of land use in the Lubuk Gaung sub-district, which was originally used as agricultural land and has now become industrial land, the Lubuk Gaung people have other options to find work, namely as industrial employees. / industrial workers
