Abstract

The development of the Balai Raja Village Area for residential purposes would undoubtedly boost the demand for houses. The subject of this research is Mutiara Indah Housing, which is located in a strategic location adjacent to the Balai Raja Toll Gate, ensuring that the housing environment is very accessible. The goal of this study was to see how the general public understood (perceived) the use of CPTED in the Mutiara Indah Housing environment. The desired outcome is the formulation of directions for CPTED implementation based on community perception and response in the Mutiara Indah Housing environment, so that the CPTED concept is better used in Mutiara Indah Housing. In order to answer the question of how to steer the use of the CPTED concept in Mutiara Indah Housing, descriptive study was used. While the methodology utilized is a mix of quantitative and qualitative methods. Quantitative measurements of determined research variables will be used to create answers to research questions. Furthermore, qualitative measurements bolstered the thoughts that arose. The instructions for applying the Concept of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) in Mutiara Indah Housing are written in such a way that a residential environment can be created to organically combat crime without the use of officials. This strategy aims to reduce the formal role of security agents by interrogating strangers excessively (intimidation) and using excessively visible gates (unfriendly). All aspects of CPTED exhibit positive correlation findings, according to the correlation analysis results. As a result, as more components of the CPTED Concept are implemented, residents in Mutiara Indah Housing have a greater sense of security.
