Abstract

Until now, urban public transportation (angkot) still dominates public transportation services in the center of Tanjungpinang City, but the number of angkot fleets in Tanjungpinang City continues to decline. This is due to the uncontrolled growth in the number of private vehicles and the poor quality of angkot service facilities. The purpose of this study was to compile a directive for urban public transportation services (angkot) in Tanjungpinang City. This study uses qualitative and quantitative methods with the variables studied are safety, comfort, travel time, affordability and cost. Primary data collection was carried out by questionnaires, field observations and interviews with related parties. Secondary data obtained from the results of previous studies and relevant literature. Data analysis using descriptive analysis and Likert scale analysis which was measured statistically. The results of observations that have been made on the quality of urban public transportation services (angkot) in Tanjungpinang City found that the quality of public transportation services in Tanjungpinang City is quite bad and public perceptions of the research questionnaire on average choose the category disagree that angkot services in Tanjungpinang City are good enough . From the results of the analysis of the results of observations and research questionnaires, a directive is prepared to improve urban public transportation services (angkot) in Tanjungpinang City.
