Abstract

Research has been carried out on peat water distillation using a distillatory type wick solar still with additional wall insulator. The research method used is the experimental method. This tool function as a peat water converter into clean ready to use water, By evaporating peat water using solar thermal energy. In the study used 3 variations of flow rate, namely 90⁄ , 100⁄ , and 110⁄ where there is a difference in the destillator, namely using an insulator and without an insulator. At flow rate 100⁄with the addition of an insulator to get more distillation results, namely 1960 ml compared to flow rate 90⁄ as much as 1200 ml and flow rate 110⁄ much as 1020 ml. The temperature inside the distillator is different, maximum temperature is obtained at a flow rate of 100⁄ with the addition of an insulator compared to without using an insulator.
