Abstract

Composites are widely applied to tools that require a combination of two basic properties, namely strength and lightness. Currently, a composite manufacturing method known as CPC (conducting polymer composite) has been developed, which can produce products and meet the criteria for fuel cells, both in terms of mechanical and electrical properties, the advantage is that it is economical, has high flexibility and is easier to fabricate and lighter than metal plates. This study aims to determine the effect of the percentage of a mixture of carbon graphite with epoxy resin as an adhesive on the mechanical properties and electrical conductivity, the percentage used is 90% carbon graphite: 10% epoxy resin, 80% carbon graphite: 20% epoxy resin, 70% carbon graphite. : 30% epoxy resin. The tests carried out are microstructure test, bending strength test, and electrical conductivity test. For the test results, the highest electrical conductivity is found in specimens with a composition of 90% carbon graphite: 10% carbon graphite with a value of 98.42 S/cm, and the lowest electrical conductivity is found in specimens with a composition of 70% carbon graphite: 30% epoxy resin with a value of 44.88. S/Cm. while for the observation of microstructure and bending strength the best is found in the specimen with a composition of 70% carbon graphite: 30% epoxy resin because the particle arrangement is quite dense and has a bending strength of 11.08 N/mm².
