Abstract
Theft often occurs in boarding houses. Occupants of boarding rooms cannot monitor their occupancy effectively, which creates a sense of concern. There is no security system that provides information directly to room occupants. Produce a boarding room security device that is able to detect human movement, the buzzer provides a warning in the form of sound and telegram as a notification and can be managed independently by each room occupant. To get the desired results in designing a prototype boarding room security system based on the internet of things using passive infrared receiver sensor with ESP32-CAM and telegram as a notification at the Sianturi Air Cold boarding house, of course, it requires several supporting components in the process. Using a boarding security system can reduce theft that often occurs in boarding houses by using PIR sensors. Occupants can monitor their boarding house when they leave their residence with a security system that can be controlled via the telegram application. The design of the IoT boarding room security system using a PIR sensor can detect movement and the buzzer acts as an alarm, information in the form of notifications will be forwarded to residents via the telegram application. The next researcher can develop a camera that can detect faces (face detection) and face recognition (face recognition). The next researcher can use other connecting media using the Whatsapp application.
