Abstract
The gasoline engine is one type of internal combustion engine whose fuel combustion process is carried out in the cylinder combustion chamber itself with the help of spark sparks from the spark plug. The result of the combustion process is that it produces or generates combustion power to carry out business steps. The main engine components include the cylinder head. The result of the combustion process is that it produces or generates combustion power to carry out work steps. The main engine components include the cylinder head. Inside the cylinder head there is a camshaft and valve mechanism. Basically, the shaft is designed to open the valve before the piston starts and closes the valve after a complete step in the cycle to be used by the inertial force or momentum of the fast flow gas to efficiently fill and empty the cylinder. Along with the development of the automotive world, there are many ways to modify the engine so that the power and torque of the motor that meets the needs can be achieved, such as by adjusting the valve timing on the camshaft design. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the valve timing changes on the four stroke 125 cc engine affect the combustion effectiveness which affects the power produced which depends on the engine speed. Changing valve timing in terms of the most effective power and torque at the top rotation (≥ 7000 rpm) with a power of 7.8 PS is Advance 4°, and its use is more effective on high-speed vehicles. and its use is more effective on high-speed vehicles. Whereas in the lower rotation (<3000 rpm) with torque of 13.45 in advance 4° the use is most effective in low-speed vehicles such as in areas that are full of congestion. Keywords : Power , Torque , Valve Timing (Camshaft)
