Abstract

The difficulty of self-adjustment for santriwati in following the education pattern in the Islamic boarding school. Where they have to live in a dormitory, and follow all the programs and regulations that have been set by the boarding school, it causes some students to become stressed and depressed. High resilience is needed to overcome these pressures. One of the factors that is assumed to be related to resilience is the personality of the Qur'an. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the Qur'anic personality and the resilience of Islamic boarding school students in Pekanbaru. The subjects of this study were 98 high school students at the Islamic boarding school in Pekanbaru. The sampling technique uses cluster random sampling. The data collection method used the Qur'ani personality scale which has been modified from Alfarina, Nusyirwan, Andani, Anggrayni (2019) which amounted to 78 items and the resilience scale by Wagnild and Young (1987) which amounted to 25 items. Data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation where the results showed a correlation coefficient (r) = 0.229 and a significance value of 0.023 (p <0.05). It can be concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship between the Qur'ani personality and the resilience of Islamic boarding school students in Pekanbaru. The resulting correlation value is positive, meaning that the higher the Qur'anic personality, the higher the resilience, vice versa, the lower the Qur'ani personality, the lower the resilience.
