Abstract

Pekanbaru city has historical heritage. This can be seen from the existence of old buildings and historical stories. Historical buildings located onSenapelanSubdistrict, precisely in Kampung Bandar and KampungDalam Village, there is no information regarding about historical buildings, there is no special regulation for the cultural heritage of pekanbaru city as a legal basis not optimal preservation efforts of the region's historic buildings. The purpose of this study is to formulate preservation directions in the area of historic buildings in Kampung Bandar Village and KampungDalam Village. This research used descriptive qualitative analysis method with purposive sampling technique. The analysis technique to identifying the characteristics of historic buildings, supporting factors and preservation factors using descriptive analysis with interviews and field observations. While the technique of analyzing the physical direction of buildings and regional zoning directions using evaluative and development analysis.For policy directives using descriptive analysis techniques. The results of this study are in Kampung Bandar and KampungDalam Villages having 2 buildings characterized as Colonial Transitional Architects, 5 buildings as Malay Traditional Houses, 3 buildings as a combination of Colonial Transitional Architects and Modern Colonial, and 1 building characterized by a blend of Colonial Transitional Architects and Malay Houses. The inhibiting factors and provide factors for conservation are optainfrom historical buildings aspect, regions, policies, the role of the community, and funding. Then there are the physical direction of the historic building with efforts to preserve preservation, conservation, rehabilitation and reconstruction. Then the policy direction taken is to create a program that can increase efforts for conservation activities.
