Abstract

The teacher's role in classroom management is very important to do, since by doing good classroom management, it is able to induce a learning atmosphere which is conducive, effective and may increase student motivation in learning. The aim of this study is to determine the correlation between classroom management and learning motivation on students of Elementary Schools 117 Pekanbaru. The subject in this study is 154 students consisting of 80 male students and 74 female students for elementary school (SD) 117 in Pekanbaru. The sampling technique used is strata sample (stratified sampling). The data collection method uses a classroom management scale consisting of 30 items and scale of learning motivation consisting of 29 items compiled by Suci (2020). The data is analysed by using Pearson Product Moment correlation where the results shows a correlation coefficient r of 0.669 with a value of p = 0,000 (p <0.05). Then it can be concluded that there is a positive correlation between classroom management and student motivation. The resulting correlation value is positive, meaning that the higher the classroom management conducted by the teacher, the higher the learning motivation on students, and conversely the lower the classroom management carried out by the teacher, the lower the learning motivation on students.
