Abstract
Drilling is one of the important stages that has a significant impact on the cost of a geothermal development project. One of the most important factors in geothermal drilling is casing design, where casing design is concerned with minimizing drilling and production problems from the formation aspect. So this study aims to design the casing performance in the well x geothermal field using the New Zealand Code 2015 method. The casing design process consists of selecting the casing size, weight, value, and depth setting. The depth of a casing is determined by analysis of data from adjacent wells which will include rock characteristics, temperature, fluid type, and composition, and pressure. This is done by calculating the burst, collapse, and axial loads that affect the casing during well drilling and also when the well is producing. In this study, secondary data was used to design the casing performance of hot well X using the 2015 New Zealand Code standard. The results obtained in the design of casing performance in well X geothermal field obtained the depth of each casing section, namely surface casing with a depth of 0- 150 m, Intermediate 150 – 340 m, Production Casing 340 – 890 m, Performance Liner 890 – 1450 m, and Optional Liner 1450 – 2000 m and the casing material used for casing performance design in well X geothermal field is used on Surface Casing H -40, Intermediate H-40, Production Casing C-95, Performance Liner C-95, and Optional Performance C-95
