Abstract
Siak Sri Indrapura City is one of the cities is faster development, from growth population and in urban development. The developmen of the city of Siak Sri Indrapura has increasingly been seen since The TengkuAgung Sultanah Latifah Bridge in 2007 was the link between two areas bordered by the river to accelerate accessibility. The increasing number of buit-up land and population, the need to study the morphology of the city to find out the city changes and the city will be developed in the future so that development can be carried out in accordance with its designation. This study aims to examine the morphology of the city of Siak Sri Indrapura in 2005-2018. This study uses descriptive qualitative analysis, which is analyzing and explaning phenomena in depth through in-depth data collection an quantitative descriptive analysis, calculating and measuring mathematically on existing phenomena. Sources of data are divided into primary data consisting of observation, documentation and secondary data sourced from the Central Bureau of Statistics, Regional Planning Agency, Population and Civil Registry Service, and Land Agency. The results of this study are known that the City of Siak Sri Indrapura experienced changes in land cover, changes in land use, changes in road network patterns and changes in building patterns and its functions in each year. Changes in land cover in 2005 to 2012 were land not built into built-up land of 448 ha or 2.53% and in 2012 to 2016 land was not built into built-up land of 2052 ha or 13.16%. The biggest change in land use in 2005 to 2012 was plantations to settlements of 289 ha or 1.85%. In 2012 to 2016, plantations to settlements amounted to 554 ha or 3.79%.The patterns of the road network in Siak Sri Indrapura City in the pattern of a road or grid because the road alredy exists almost in every sttelment and th patterns of builldings in Siak Sri Indrapura City is dominated by heterogeneous patterns and linear patterns because the existing buildings vary with defferent shape, and many of thesebuilding are located on the edge of the Siak river with teh function of buldings dominated by residential buildings.
