Abstract

This research is motivated by the use of journalistic language which still finds errors in accordance with the characteristics of journalistic language. Journalistic language is a language that is subject to the principles and main elements inherent in the journalistic definition. The problem of this research (1) how is the use of journalistic language communicative characteristics in the opinion of Tribun Pekanbaru? (2) how is the use of journalistic language specific characteristics in the opinion of Tribun Pekanbaru? (3) how is the use of the word-saving feature of journalistic language in the opinion of Tribun Pekanbaru? (4) how does the use of journalistic language have a clear meaning in the opinion of Tribun Pekanbaru? (5) how does the use of journalistic language feature non-redundant in the opinion of the Pekanbaru Tribune? (6) how is the use of non-cliché journalistic language in the opinion of Tribun Pekanbaru? The purpose of this research is (1) to find out how the use of journalistic language communicative characteristics in the opinion of Tribun Pekanbaru? (2) to find out how the use of specific characteristic journalistic language in the Pekanbaru Tribun opinion? (3) to find out how to use the word-saving feature of journalistic language in the opinion of the Pekanbaru Tribune? (4) to find out how the use of journalistic language has clear meaning in the opinion of the Pekanbaru Tribune? (5) to find out how the use of journalistic language is not redundant in the opinion of the Pekanbaru Tribune? (6) to find out how the use of non-cliché journalistic language in the Pekanbaru Tribune opinion. This research method is content analysis of the type of research that utilizes written information or issues as material symbols (Martono, 2012: 10). The research approach used a qualitative approach. The technique of collecting data uses hermeneutics and documentation. The results of this study the authors found the use of journalistic language with communicative characteristics in the opinion of the Pekanbaru Tribune, namely (1) according to the rules, (2) (according to reason), (3) the delivery of messages according to the speaker, (4) the use of journalistic language with specific characteristics in the opinion of the Pekanbaru Tribune, (5) the use of word-saving journalistic language in the Pekanbaru Tribun opni, (6) the use of journalistic language has clear meanings in the Pekanbaru Tribune's opinion, (7) the use of journalistic language features is not redundant in the opinion of the Pekanbaru Tribune, (8) the use of journalistic language is not cliché in the opinion of the Pekanbaru Tribune.
