Abstract

The gas produced from the production wells is flowed through the production pipe to the gathering station (GS) and then through a treatment process to separate the impurities contained in the gas through a heat exchanger for the next process with the Desiccant Dehydration Unit (DDU) process to become dry gas which ready to be marketed. Gas production carried out in this research is in the Pematang field, where gas production in this field uses the Desiccant Dehydration Unit (DDU) process, meaning that the desiccant-based gas dryer is used. Where in this process the desiccant used is the deliquescent type which functions to absorb water vapor in the gas which then dissolves in water, and the type of desiccant used is the Dry Peak type which can absorb moisture up to RH 33% when operating. The problem that will be evaluated from the Desiccant Dehydration Unit (DDU) process itself is to compare the water vapor content in the inlet and outlet of the GS system and also take into account the level of water vapor absorption carried out using the Desiccant Dehydration Process or with this process. able to eliminate moisture content which will later be in accordance with the provisions contained in the employment contract with other parties in the form of a work agreement. The daily consumption of desiccant to absorb moisture in the gas outlet in accordance with the provisions in Pematang GP is 58.33 lbs desiccant/day. Water absorption is 50 lbs/MMscf and the absorption rate carried out by the Desiccant Dehydration Unit (DDU) process is 70%. The ability of the Desiccant Dehydration Unit (DDU) process to remove moisture is equal to 76 inches of bead height, 105 inches of drain height and a minimum gas flow area of 3,656 ft2•
