Abstract
Imperative speech is speech that contains the intention to govern or ask the interlocutor to do something the speaker wants. This study examines the politeness of imperative speech between teachers and students of SDN 65 Pekanbaru. The problems examined are (1) how is the imperative speech contained in the speech between the teacher and students of SDN 65 Pekanbaru in the Indonesian learning process? (2) how is the maxim of politeness contained in imperative speech between teachers and students of SDN 65 Pekanbaru in the Indonesian learning process ?. This study aims to analyze, describe, and present and conclude imperative speech and maxim of politeness principles contained in imperative speech between teachers and students of SDN 65 Pekanbaru in the Indonesian learning process. The theory used in this research is Rahardi (2005). The research data are the speeches identified in the speech between the teachers and students of SDN 65 Pekanbaru, which amounted to 211 utterances. The method used in this research is descriptive method research. The results of this study identified 89 imperative utterances between teachers and students of SDN 65 Pekanbaru, found 13 ordinary imperative utterances, 22 demand imperative utterances, 21 invitation imperative utterances, and 31 imperative utterances. The imperative utterances that are often used are the imperative utilities of the order. The imperative utterances containing politeness maxims were found 11 wisdom maxims, 3 generosity maxims, 6 reward maxims, 2 simplicity maxims, and 12 consensus maxims, and 3 sympathies maxims. The most widely used maxim between teachers and students at SDN 65 Pekanbaru is the maxim of agreement.
