Abstract

In this modern, all-digital era, there are so many social media platforms that become a means of connecting and communicating for many people. As the most popular social media with hundreds of millions of users worldwide, Facebook and YouTube are the most popular social media. It is proven by the user percentage data that the Facebook application has the highest number of monthly active users, namely 2.7 billion users as of January 25, 2021, following YouTube with the second rank having users of 2.3 billion (We are social, 2021). This study aims to analyze the comparison of the speed of data access on the Facebook and YouTube live streaming applications using the Quality Of Services parameter. The results of data analysis that have been carried out show that the performance of wireless network internet services at the Islamic University of Riau on the live streaming application of the Facebook and YouTube applications using the Quality of Service method based on the TIPHON standard is categorized as good, it's just that the 480p 30fps video test in the law faculty building live streaming the youtube application on can be greater, namely 16 ms when compared to all other 720p video resolution tests, for jitter it is in the very good category for all tests. In the throughput test, the value obtained in all tests is in the very good category and for all packet loss tests in the medium category with the highest value of 50% at 720p 480fps video resolution in the engineering faculty building.
