Abstract

Typhoid is also known as typhoid fever, or enteric fever. The term typhoid comes from the Greek word tyhpos, which means fog, because in general the sufferer often experiences impaired consciousness from mild to severe. Typhoid is an acute systemic infectious disease caused by the micro-organism Salmonella enterica serotype typhi known as Salmonella typhi (S. typhi). This disease is still widely encountered in developing countries with subtropical and tropical climates such as Indonesia. S.typhi bacteria that enter the digestive tract will not always cause infection because S.typhi bacteria must be able to reach the small intestine. Stomach acidity (PH 3.5) is one of the important factors preventing S.typhi from reaching the small intestine. However, most S.typhi bacteria can survive because they have the ATR (acid tolerance response) gene due to Achlorhydria due to aging, gastrectomy, proton pump inhibitors, H2 receptor antagonist histamine treatment, or administration of antcid can reduce the infective dose that makes it easier for germs to pass into the small intestine. The search method for typhoid fever uses CF (Certainty Factor) while to find solutions and provide solutions for typhoid fever application users using a forward chaining inference engine. To make it easier for users, the system is made on a web-based basis. Based on the results of the implementation of this system, the questionnaire value of 90% showed that this expert system was able to provide solutions from users of the expert system for diagnosing typhoid fever.
