Abstract

Concrete is a common material used in building construction, due to its strength and durability, as well as low cost. However, concrete can experience fine cracks due to concrete shrinking and working living loads that can cause damage to concrete structures. One of the innovations so that concrete has the ability to repair damage independently is called self healing concrete. In this study concrete was mixed with vegetable waste extracts that were extracted from the Market in Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study was to find out the value of concrete slump with vegetable waste extract mixture variations of 3%, 5%, 7%, 9% whether it can meet the standard slump value of 60-180 and know the changes in cracks in concrete that use vegetable waste extract mixture in the process of self healing concrete. The study was conducted in the laboratory referring to SNI 03-03-28342000 with cube-shaped concrete test objects as many as 27 samples, with the number of 3 test objects per variation. Treatment age 28 days after that the sample that was selected was restored for 28 days, then the sample was pressed. The results of this study the normal concrete slump value has a slump value of 146,667 mm, while concrete with a mixture of vegetable waste extract, the slump value of the 3% and 5% variants decreased with a slump value of 70 mm and 90 mm, this indicates that concrete absorbs water more. For the slump value of the 7% variant, and 9% experienced an increase with a slump value of 166,667 mm and 180 mm, and the slump value still meets the planned standard of 60 mm to 180 mm. After seeing visual changes in concrete for 28 days, the results of the self healing concrete process each variation of 3%, 5%, 7%, 9% experienced changes in the crack. The changes look perfect in the 5% and 7% variants containing CaCO3 levels of 11.5% and 10.5%.
