Abstract

Concrete is the most widely used material for infrastructure development. But the appearance of a gap in it is unavoidable. If cracks occur in hard-to-reach places, then their repair will become more complicated. Frequent maintenance, monitoring, and repairs are also expensive. Crack formation occurs due to human error, unskilled labor, and weather conditions. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical changes in concrete and to analyze the effect of water cement factor 0.55 on the concrete strength value on self-healing concrete quality with the method used to calculate the concrete mix (Mix Design) based on SNI 03-2834-2000. Methods This research uses the method of self-healing concrete or selfhealing concrete. This study used a cube sample of 27 samples. This method is done by adding bacteria from vegetable waste extract. The percentages of variation used are 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, and 8%. The results are made in the form of compressive strength values for each variation and attach documentation of crack observations. The results of the compressive strength of concrete at the age of 28 days of immersion in this self-healing concrete study varied 0% with a compressive strength value of 33.45 MPa. For a variation of 2% bacteria with a compressive strength value of 27.62 Mpa. For a variation of 4% bacteria with a compressive strength value of 25.44 MPa. For a variation of 6% bacteria with a compressive strength value of 20.06 MPa. For a variation of 8% bacteria with a compressive strength value of 18.99 MPa. The compressive strength of concrete after crack recovery is 28 days with a variation of 2% bacteria, the compressive strength value is 28.14 MPa. For the variation of 4% bacteria the compressive strength value is 28.38 MPa. For the variation of 6% Bacteria the compressive strength value is 27.29 MPa. For the variation of 8% bacteria the compressive strength value is 19.59 MPa. The value of the compressive strength of concrete at 28 days of immersion decreased compared to the 0% bacterial variation of concrete and the concrete after 28 days of crack recovery experienced a decrease in compressive strength at the percentage variations of 2%, 4%, 6%,8%. However, in the comparison of the compressive strength of concrete after 28 days of crack recovery, there was an increase compared to 28 days of immersion concrete with a 2% variation the increase value was 1.883%, for a 4% variation the increase value was 11.557%, for a 6% variation the increase was 36.042%, for variation of 8% the value of the increase is 3.160%.
