Abstract

Peatlands that dominate Indonesian land, especially in Bengkalis district give an impact quality decreas to concrete of rigid pavement, which happen in Bengkalis ring road. This research intend to know the impact caused by peat water to compressive strength of fc’ 36 MPa concrete and to know Scanning Electrone Microscopic – Energy Dispersive Stereoscopy analysis from concrete that soaked by peat water in 56 days then compared with compressive strength and SEM-EDS analysis from concrete that soaked by peatwater in 5 years. This Research was implemented in three locations, taking concrete core sample in Bengkalis ring road, making concrete sample and compressive strength in Divisi Teknik PT. Lutvindo Wijaya Perkasa laboratory and scanning electrone microscopic in SEM FMIPA ITB Bandung laboratory. The Research conducted by comparing compressive strength of concrete sample which soaked by peat water in 56 days with concrete core sample affected peat water. After it all the sample are scanning with electrone microscope to know there is any ettringite built up or not and chemical reaction caused by the reaction between cement and peatwater. From this research are known compressive strength from concrete are soaked by peat water in 56 days have average value lower than concrete are soaked with tap water. That average value is 40.06 MPa and concrete that soaked with tap water had value 41.65 MPA. SEM-EDS result are show any different ettringite formed in every part of concrete sample. In the surface of concrete cylinder soaked by peat water many ettringite appear but in other part there is not much ettringite appear. From compressive strength it shown there is a decrease by 42.66% quality of concrete which soaked by peat water in 5 years. On concrete ages 28 days in project processing the compressive strength is 36.85 MPa, after 5 years the compressive strength is 21.13 MPa. but there is not happen with concrete that soaked by pwat water in 56 days. From SEM result ettringite more in concrete that soaked by peat water in 5 years than concrete soak by peat water in 56 days.
