Abstract

The research area is at coordinates 100°48'20.00"E- 100°45'0.00"E and 0°18'53.00"LS-0°16'58.00"LS. Administratively, including along the causeway of West Sumatra Province and Riau Province, especially the Tanjung Alai area, XIII Koto Kampar District, Kampar Regency. The purpose of this study is to be able to determine the types of structures and to know the general direction of fractures based on forces on the formation of geological structures using stereographic analysis and scanline methods. The method used is rock sampling in the field, rock description, structure data collection, analysis using stereonet. Based on the petrographic analysis of the research area, there are 2 types of lithology, namely sandstone and claystone. Structural data collection was taken on sandstone and claystone. There are three types of structures found in the study area, namely faults, joints, and folds. At station one, the structure is found, namely a descending fault with a northwestsoutheast direction, a fold with a north-south direction. The joint data was collected using the scanline method with a length of 6 meters and the number of joints obtained was 88, and the dominant direction of the joints obtained was northwest-southeast and north-south.
