Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the description of teacher’s patience at Special School (SLB). This research involved 137 SLB teachers as samples from 13 special schools in Pekanbaru chosen by using quota sampling technique. The measurement instruments used in this research were the scales of patience consisting of 51 items arranged by the researcher herself based on the concept of patience proposed by Subandi (2011). The statistical analysis used in this research was descriptive statistical analysis. The results of this research show that the majority of SLB teachers have patience in medium category with the mean score 204, 25 and the standard of deviation is 19,48. If reviewed from the kind of genders, there is no significant difference between male teachers and female teachers. If reviewed based on the age and period of work, it shows that the majority of samples have patience in medium category. It can be concluded that in general the majority of SLB teachers show patience attitude but it is not categorized into high or low.
