Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is aggressive behavior and deviates from social norms and legal norms committed by adolescents as well as the impact on themselves and on others, physically and psychologically. Religiosity is as an individual's obedience to the religious orders that he believes. This study aims to determine the relationship between religiosity and juvenile delinquency in high school students of N 1 Kuantan Hilir Seberang. The number of samples in this study were 185 people using two scales namely the religiosity scale consisting of 63 items and the juvenile delinquency scale of 53 items of data analyzed using SPSS 16.0 for windows. From the analysis the reliability scale of religiosity is obtained 0.909 and its validity moves between 0.304 to 0.884. While the reliability of juvenile delinquency scales is 0.941 and its validity moves between 0.304 and 0.726. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant negative relationship between religiosity and juvenile delinquency (R Square = 0.110; p = 0.000). That is, religiosity contributes 11% to juvenile delinquency. This research hypothesis was accepted.
