Abstract
Research This study aims to determine the aesthetic values in traditional kompang art in Pambang Pesisir Village, Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. The theory used in this study is the theory of Djelantik (1999:17-18), which discusses the aesthetic value of all artistic objects or events containing three basic aspects which include form or appearance, weight or content, appearance or presentation. Understanding The concept of form includes the basic form or element and structure. Content or weight has three aspects, namely atmosphere, ideas, and messages. Meanwhile, artistic performance has three elements that play a role, namely talent, skills, and means or media. The method used in this research is descriptive qualititative. Data collection techniques in this study are observation, interview and documentation. Data analysis techniques using data reduction, data presentation, data display. Subjects in this study amounted to seven people. Research on the value of Kompang music aesthetics is as follows: has the value of the beauty of the object consisting of, 1) the value of the form or form of Kompang music can be seen froom musical instrumental, place of excecution and performers of the arts, 2) the value of the weight or content of Kompang musik produces at atmosphere, the massage conveyed from the meaning of the song, 3) the appearance value obtained from the appearance of the performers of the arts at the time of the activity. The value of the beauty of Kompang music subject in the village of Pambang Pesisir that can be assessed are: 1) the scope of beauty, sound and meaning of Kompang music, 2) scope of benefits judged by the benefits of music, 3) the spritual scope is the religious value fond in Kompang music.
