Abstract

This research has been carried out in the experimental garden Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jl. Kaharuddin Nasution, KM 11, Pekanbaru City. This research was conducted for 5 months (March-July) 2019. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of chicken eggshell powder and NPK 16:16:16 fertilizer on the growth and production of tomato plants. The design used in this study was a Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is Chicken Egg Shell Powder (Factor C) and the second factor is NPK Fertilizer 16:16:16 (Factor N) consists of 4 levels, so there are 16 combinations of treatments with 3 replications. The parameters observed were plant height, number of branches, age of flowering, age of harvest, number of fruits per plant, weight of fruit per fruit, weight of fruit per plant and remaining fruit. Observational data were analyzed statistically and continued with BNJ further tests at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction effect of chicken eggshell powder treatment and NPK 16:16:16 significantly affected the parameters of harvest age, number of fruits per plant, weight of fruit per plant and the number of remaining fruit, with the best combination of treatments namely chicken eggshell powder treatment 45 g / plant and NPK fertilizer 16:16:16 30 g / plant (C3N3). The main effect of the treatment of chicken eggshell powder significantly affected all parameters, with the best treatment being chicken eggshell powder 45 g / plant (C3). The main effect of NPK 16:16:16 fertilizer treatment significantly affected all parameters with the best treatment, namely NPK 16:16:16 30 g / plant (N3).
