Abstract

The research has been carried out in the greenhouse, experimental gardens of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University. Jln. Kaharuddin Nasution KM 13, Kelurahan Air Dingin, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. This research was conducted for one month, starting from May to June 2019. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect and determine the potential concentration of chirinyuh leaf extract on inhibition of germination and growth of bandotan weeds. This research was carried out using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments. This study used a concentration of chirinyuh leaf extract with levels of 0, 100, 200, 300 and 400 g / L. Each treatment consisted of 5 replications, so that 25 unit experiments were obtained. Each unit of experiment consists of 3 units of experiment, so that in total there are 75 unit of experiment. The parameters observed were age of emergence of sprouts, percentage of germination, germination rate, number of leaves, plant height, root length, wet weight, dry weight and other types of weeds that grow. Observation data were analyzed statistically and continued with further DMRT tests at the 5% level. The results showed that the administration of chirinyuh leaf extract significantly affected the age of sprouts, percentage of germination, germination rate, number of leaves, plant height, root length, wet weight and dry weight. Potential to inhibit germination and growth began at a concentration of 100 g / L. The best concentration of chirinyuh leaf extract in inhibiting germination and growth of bandotan weeds is 400 g / L.
