Abstract
One of the functions of the BPD is to supervise the performance of the village head, this supervision of course requires good cooperation from BPD members together with the Village Head, especially in supervising every work program that has been planned, because then village development can be more focused. The purpose of the study was to find out how the supervision of BPD members on the performance of the Village Head in Segamai Village, Teluk Meranti District, Pelalawan Regency and find out what obstacles and obstacles faced by the Village Consultative Body (BPD) in supervising the performance of the Village Head in Segamai Village, Teluk Meranti District, Pelalawan Regency. . This study uses a qualitative method to describe the actual situation or what actually happened regarding the implementation of supervision on the performance of the Village Head in Segamai Village. There were six informants in this study consisting of key informants and informants. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it is found that the monitoring of the performance of the village head by the Village Consultative Body in Segamai Village shows that in monitoring the performance of the village head it has not been carried out properly, this can be seen from the BPD rarely holds regular meetings in order to review the progress of each village government planning that has been determined together. The obstacles in implementing the performance of the village head by the Village Consultative Body are the lack of communication between BPD Members and the Village Head and also the absence of a forum or place as a secretariat where BPD members gather to carry out their duties and functions properly. The author's suggestion is that between members of the Village Consultative Body and the Village Head improve the communication system and provide a place or secretariat where BPD members can gather and hold regular meetings with the Village Head.
