Abstract

The agricultural sector is still the leading sector for the economy of Indragiri Hulu Regency in 2010-2017. This study aims to analyze (1) the growth of the agricultural sub-sector of GRDP in economic development. (2) Position of the agricultural sub-sector in economic development. (3) Basic and non-base subsectors in economic development. The method used is the study of literature with the type of time series data (times series) in the form of GRDP data from 2010 to 2017 as well as supporting data in research. The analytical tool to determine the position of each agricultural sub-sector is the Klassen Typology analysis, to find out the growth of each sub-sector in agriculture is the Shift Share analysis and to determine the base subsector used the Loqation Quetient analysis. The results of this study (1) The position of the agricultural sub-sector in the economy of Indragiri Hulu Regency in 2010-2017 is: The food crops and livestock sub-sector is in the advanced but depressed sub-sector position. The estate crops sub-sector is in the position of a potential sub-sector. The forestry sub-sector is in a position of advanced and growing rapidly. Fisheries sub-sector is in the position of lagging sub-sector. (2) Growth of each agricultural sub-sector in the economy of Indragiri Hulu Regency, namely: Sub-sectors experiencing proportional growth (Pp), namely the estate crops sub-sector, livestock and fisheries sub-sector. And subsectors that experienced slower growth were the food crops sub-sector and the forestry sub-sector. The sub-sector experiencing regional growth (Pw) with competitive competitiveness is the forestry sub-sector. While the food crops subsector, estate crops sub-sector and livestock sub-sector do not have good competitiveness or are not competitive. (3) Sub-sectors which are the basic subsectors in the economy of Indragiri Hulu Regency, namely the food crops subsector, livestock sub-sector and forestry sub-sector. The estate crops sub-sector and the fishery sub-sector are the non-base sub-sectors in the economy of Indragiri Hulu Regency. Based on the analysis that there are no sub-sectors that have the most dominant role in the economy, but have a role in the position of potential sub-sectors that can be developed in Indragiri Hulu Regency.
