Abstract
This research discussed the issue of police strategy in handling case of illegal tin mining in district of West Singkep. It is in the background by the many cases of illegal mining in district of West Singkep. This research was conducted using qualitative research methods with descriptive type. To get data and appropriate research result, then the author directly interviewed key informants and informants. So that it is expented to provide objective and honest information. From the results of research on key informants and informants, it can be concluded that the case of illegal mining in West Singkep has been going on for a long time and has become the livelihood of the local communitiy to meet the needs of their families. The police strategy in handling this case is by providing socialization about the dangers of illegal tin mining and advocacy to stakeholders and the community around the mine site as well as socialization related to criminal acts in accordance with Law No. 4 of 2009. In addition, the police also conduct raids on illegal mining site in West Singkep.
