Abstract

Logo is a picture symbol which was used as identity to describe an image and character of an intuition, it could be a corporation or an organization. A logo is also as important part of an institution which was close to every cooperation, specially to the cooperation which has clear idea which completed by vision and mission. Semiotic is a study about how to produce meaning and value in a communication system. Sign and symbol become the tools and also material that was used in the social interaction. Game or online game is known in all people around the environment, starting from old men to the young men and even kids. Considering to the phenomena nowadays, game had been second option of people in entertaining aspect, and game also had a special interesting for the society. Many founders of game had competed to satisfying society needs of the game in order they can play the game which was founders create. Online game is also becoming one competition in world that has a fantastic prize. A game competition also considered to the logo of the game itself. The founders of game would show their identity through the logo where the society play their game. By the logo the society could identify the game without knowing the name. Based on this phenomena, a logo become an important aspect in life. Through the analysis of semiotic by Charles Sanders Peierce, logo game of dota 2 became meaningful for the society. It was not only as a symbol but it could be representative of the meaning inside the game. The theory which was used by the researchers consisted of sign, object and interpretant or it could be called as triangle meaning semiotic. By conducting this theory there were special meaning of the logo from the research which was conducted by the researcher that is called as dota 2.
