Abstract

This study is motivated by the students’ low concentration in learning at Madrasah Aliyah Miftahul Hidayah Pekanbaru. It is identified from the signs such as paying less attention to the teacher during learning, this can be assumed with an effective learning environment. The problem formulation of this study: how is the influence of learning environment on students’ concentration in learning the subject of Al-Qur'an Hadith at Madrasah Aliyah Miftahul Hidayah Pekanbaru. The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of learning environment on students’ concentration in learning Al-Qur'an Hadith at Madrasah Aliyah Miftahul Hidayah Pekanbaru. The type of this study is quantitative with a correlation approach. The sampling technique used is saturated sampling, which takes the total number of the population because there are less than 100 students, namely only 95 students, so the sample consists of 95 students. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the hypothesis of the influence of learning environment on learning concentration is accepted with a significance value of 0.000. The influence of learning environment on students’ concentration in learning Al-Qur'an Hadith is quite strong (0.415 or 41.5%). It can be predicted that if the learning environment is comfortable, it will improve students’ learning concentration by 0.540 or 54.0% and vice versa. So it can be concluded that there is a strong influence of learning environment on learning concentration. Thus, the principal is suggested to create an effective learning environment in order to improve students’ learning concentration.
