Abstract

Along with the growing development of the sharia economy in Indonesia, currently many businessmen and Islamic financial institutions implement the sharia system in carrying out their business, such as Islamic financial institutions, banking, insurance, mutual funds, capital markets, and hotel sectors. In Pekanbaru city, there is Graha Badnur Sharia Hotel which is located on Gabus Street No.3 / Tambusai RT.04 / RW.02 Tangkerang Barat Subdistrict, Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru, Riau. The problem formulation of this study: how is the implemetation of sharia principles at Graha Badnur Sharia Hotel?; and how is the service quality based on sharia principles at Graha Badnur Sharia Hotel. The aim of this study is to investigate the implementation of sharia principles at Graha Badnur Sharia Hotel and to determine the quality of guest service based on sharia principles at Graha Badnur Sharia Hotel . The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. The data sources are primary data and secondary data which are analyzed by using qualitative descriptive analysis. The population of this study consists of 13 hotel employees and 10 hotel visitors with the sample is taken from the entire population. The result of this study show that the Graha Badnur Sharia Hotel can be concluded as a sharia hotel, because it has implemented the principles of sharia based on the religious teachings. These principles are included in the rules or policies of the hotel as a whole, they are: upholding honesty, hospitality, being responsible, not providing haram food or drink, trustworthy in the service aspects, such as: being polite and friendly to the guests, acting fast response, and taking the initiative in serving guests. This hotel model is in demand and trusted by the public, because the aspects of comfort, safety, cleanliness and good services are provided. Therefore, a business like this is very good to be developed to change the public opinions that hotels as immoral places or other negative things.
