Abstract
This study aims to determine the responses of teachers and students to the effectiveness of online learning biology during the covid-19 period at senior high school pekanbaru for the academic year 2020/2021. This research is a descriptive study using a survey method. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires and interviews. The sample taken in this study was a sample of 10 biology teachers and a sample of 98 class xii ipa students from senior high school 1 pekanbaru, senior high school 2 pekanbaru, senior high school 4 pekanbaru in the academic year 2020/2021. The questionnaire distributed in the form of a teacher questionnaire consisted of 26 statement items and a student questionnaire consisting of 23 statement items with the same indicators, namely: 1) learning convenience during the pandemic, 2) teachers 'digital literacy skills, 3) students' adaptation level to learning, 4) adequacy of devices, 5) internet connection, 6) learning costs and 7) comfort level of the application. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the average results of biology teacher responses to the effectiveness of online learning during the covid-19 period at sman pekanbaru were categorized as very good with a percentage of 81.33%. And the average results of class xii ipa student responses to the effectiveness of online learning during the covid-19 period at sman pekanbaru were categorized as good with a percentage of 74.88%.
