Abstract

Peat soil is categorized as soft soil, which means the land is in poor condition and problematic if construction is to be built on it. There needs to be an increase in the carrying capacity of peat soils, one of which is chemical soil stabilization, by adding additives (added materials) that can react with the soil and using new environmentally friendly methods. In this study, peat soil samples were taken in the village of Buana Makmur km55, Dayun District, Siak Regency. The stabilization material used is sand as much as 5% of the dry soil weight, Bacillus Subtilis bacteria obtained from the Agricultural Laboratory of the Islamic University of Riau and also CaCL₂ and Urea. The method of stabilizing the physical properties of peat soil in this study is the Bio-Grouting method, testing the physical properties of this peat soil follows the ASTM (American Society For Testing And Material) and SNI 1965-2008 procedures for testing the determination of water content for soil and rock in the laboratory, SNI 1964-2008 soil specific gravity test method, SNI 8460-2017 geotechnical design requirements, SK SNI -04-05-1989-F good sand to be used for a construction, SNI-02-2801-1998 urea standard. For physical properties testing was carried out by providing variations in the mixture of bacterial cementation solution with levels of 0% (without treatment), 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25% and then let stand for 14 days using a tightly closed plastic container. The result testing of physical properties of original soil knows including nature soil on water level is 407.45% and weight of soil (Gs) is 1,30gr. It also shows highest water level which addition bacterial cementation solution of 10% about 177,2% from sample without treatment or 0%. It lowest weight of soils on 10% without treatment or 0% is about 1,27gr.
