Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability to dance students (dance host in the island of Kampai) through audio-visual media (video) in class X MIPA 3 at SMA Handayani T.A 2018/2019. The form of this research is a form of descriptive analysis research with a qualitative approach. Data in the form of actions and words obtained through the activities of Observation, Documentation and interviews at SMA Handayani Pekanbaru. The subjects of this study were art and culture teachers and 34 students who were in grade X MIPA 3 of Handayani Pekanbaru High School. Data collection techniques used by the writer are Observation technique, Documentation technique and interview technique. In knowing the ability to dance in SMA Handayani in class X MIPA 3 the method used is the Question and Answer method and discussion. To find out the ability to dance (Mak host island dance) in Handayani High School, the assessment used was in the cognitive and psychomotor domains
