Abstract
The potential for marine and fisheries in Indonesia is enormous and various policies, programs and development activities in the marine and fisheries sector have been implemented and the benefits are felt. Kuantan Singingi Regency is one of the areas that contributes to fishery products for total fishery production in Riau Province. This Minapolitan area in Kuantan Singingi Regency still needs facilities and infrastructure to support the activities of the Minapolitan area, the lack of activity centers has slowed down the development of the Minapolitan area. This study aims to formulate a Minapolitan Area Development Strategy in Kuantan Singingi Regency. The research was conducted in the Kuantan Singingi Regency area. The method used in this research is a field survey and interviews with a number of informants. The collected data is then analyzed using a SWOT analysis (Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) to determine strategies through the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that exist in the Minapolitan area of Kuantan Singingi Regency. The main variables determining Minapolitan development are natural resources and processing of these natural resources. The condition of reliable fisheries and labor also determines the development of the Minapolitan area. Based on the research, the Minapolitan area in Kuantan Singingi Regency needs attention and the role of the district government in supporting Minapolitan in providing superior fish seeds, as well as attracting investors to invest in the Minapolitan area of Kuantan Singingi Regency, with the final result, the Minapolitan Area Development Strategy in Kuantan Singingi Regency. , with a strategy of increasing the coordination of program / activity synchronization, increasing fisheries sector development funds, building physical facilities for minapolitan areas, increasing socialization and promotion, strengthening aquaculture education institutions, and preserving environmental conditions, particularly water catchment areas.
