Abstract
The concept of compact city is a concept in which there is a component of sustainable city development. Compact city has a relationship with green open space which explains that green open space is a demand for compact cities to prioritize urban land intensification for urban economic growth. The potential for implementing a compact city can be seen through the measurement of urban compactness. The population in Pekanbaru City District always increases every year, population growth causes an increase in the community's need for the amount of land used. Population growth and ever increasing urban development encourage an increase in urban development so that it will affect the availability of green open space. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of urban compactness on the level of green open space availability in Pekanbaru City District. The research method used is a quantitative descriptive method. Quantitative methods are used to determine the level of urban compactness with quantitative statistical analysis techniques, correlation analysis and sturgess classification methods. To determine the level of availability of green open space with analysis techniques based on the standards of Permen PU No. 05 / PRT / M / 2008. These results are used to determine the effect of urban compactness on the level of green open space availability using simple and multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The results of this study obtained the level of urban compactness in Pekanbaru City District, which is based on the results of quantitative statistical analysis of 12 urban compactness variables, there are 4 variables that affect urban compactness in Pekanbaru City District, namely population density, built land density, settlement density and availability of trade and service facilities. . Based on the results of the measurement of urban compactness, it was found that the sub-with thelevel of urban compactness districtshighestwere Kelurahan Sukaramai and Kelurahan Tanah Datar and thelevel of urban compactness was lowestKelurahan Simpang Empat. The level of availability of green open space has not met the availability standard of Permen PU No. 05 / PRT / M / 2008. The availability of Public RTH is 3.78% and Private RTH is 5.45%. The effect of urban compactness on the level of green open space availability, namely based on the value of urban compactness, does not simultaneously affect the level of green open space availability, while based on urban compactness factors there are 2 factors that affect urban compactness with the level of green open space availability, namely the density of built land and the availability of trade facilities and services.
