Abstract
The RH well in the ORG field has problems with siltstone formations at a depth of 3,006 ft - 4,240 ft. Siltstone formations differ significantly from sandstone due to their smaller pores and higher tendency to contain significant clay fractions. Siltstone when exposed to water it will expand and will narrow the drill hole, so it will cause a decrease in the rate of drilling penetration (ROP). Evaluation and optimization of the drilling mud hydraulics system is carried out during the 8½ inch hole drilling exercise starting from a depth of 1,660 ft - 4,240 ft. Aim to get maximum hydraulic horsepower, increase jet impact force, increase the cleaning effect at the bottom of the borehole, and lift drill cuttings from the annulus to the surface so that it can help increase the drilling rate. The method used in evaluating the success of chisel hydraulics is carried out using the Jet Verlocity (JV) method. This evaluation is carried out to determine the total pressure loss in the series of drilling pipes (DP, HWDP, NMDC) and the actual mud flow rate. Optimization of chisel hydraulics in RH ORG field wells using the Jet Velocity concept. This method uses the optimum pump pressure parameters and the optimum pump flow rate under maximum pressure conditions, so that the pressure loss in the beet is 825.21 psi and the HPs value is 586.06 hp. so that the pressure loss in the bit and pump power on the surface shows that it is close to the optimum value. After optimum hydraulic chisel, it will not affect the occurrence of problems in drilling and increase in the rate of penetration (ROP) at RH well in ORG field which will get more efficient drilling time.
