Abstract

The Effect of the Locations of Male Palm Oil Flower and NPK Phonska Plus Fertilizer on the Growth and Production of Bitter Melon (Momordica charantia L). The aim of the study was to influence the main and main interaction of the male palm flower allocation and Phonska Plus fertilizer on the growth and production of bitter melon. The study was conducted in the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University. The study was conducted for 4 months from October 2019 to January 2020. The design used is a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) Factorial consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the male palm oil flower allocation which consists of 4 levels of treatment namely 0, 720, 1440 and 2160 g / plot. The second factor is NPK Phonska Plus which consists of 4 levels of treatment namely 0, 7, 14 and 21 g / plant. The parameters observed were flowering age, age of harvesting, number of planted fruits, weight of planted fruit, largest fruit diameter, longest fruit length, fruit weight per fruit and the number of remaining fruit per plant. The results of the study were statistically analyzed by continued BNJ test at 5% level. The observations showed that the interaction of male palm oil flower allocation and Phonska Plus fertilizer was significantly affected on the weight of the fruit, the largest fruit diameter, the longest fruit length, the weight of fruit per fruit and the number of remaining fruit per plant. The best treatment is the allocation of male palm oil at a dose of 1441 g / plot and NPK Phonska Plus at a dose of 14 g / plant. The main effect of male palm oil flower allocation is apparent on all parameters. The best treatment at a dose of 1441 g / plot. The main effect of NPK Phonska Plus is evident on all parameters. The best treatment at a dose of 14 g / plant.
