Abstract

The research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, for 2 months starting from August to September 2020. The purpose of the study was to determine the interaction effect and the main effect of watering frequency and NASA POC on lettuce (lactuca sativa L.) with banana stem media. . The design of this study used a 3 x 4 Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which consisted of 2 factors, where the first factor was the frequency of watering (F) consisting of 3 levels of treatment, namely 1 day of watering, 2 days of watering, and 3 days of watering. The second factor is NASA POC (N) which consists of 4 levels, namely no treatment, 4 cc/liter of water, 8 cc/liter of water, 12 cc/liter of water. Each treatment consisted of 3 replications so that 36 experimental units were obtained where from 4 plants, 2 of them were sampled so that there were 144 plants. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, root length, wet weight, root volume, dry weight. The treatment of Watering Frequency and NASA's POC in interaction did not significantly affect all observation parameters. The main effect of watering frequency has a significant effect on all parameters. The best treatment is the dose of watering frequency once every 3 days. The main effect of NASA's POC has a significant effect on all parameters. The best treatment is the NASA POC dose of 12 cc/l.
