Abstract
This research aims to know the effect of work stress and burnout towards Counterproductive work behavior. Counterproductive work behavior is all behaviors leading the individuals to all kinds of behavior which are contradictory and/or inhibit the organization to achieve the goals either on purpose or accidental. Based on the latest research states that there are factors that can influence counterproductive work behavior in organizations including work stress and burnout. The population in this research were the staff of the local secretariate of Pekanbaru City with total samples in the amount of 113 subjects taken by using simple random sampling. Data collection was conducted by using three scales; Counterproductive work behavior scale, work stress scale, and burnout scale. Data were analyzed by using regression analysis technique. The results show that independent variable work stress and burnout have significant effect towards Counterproductive work behavior (F=40.750, p =0,000). The effective contribution given by variable work stress and burnout towards Counterproductive work stress is in the amount of 42,6%, the rest is affected by other variables.
