Abstract
Parenting stress on parents who have children with special needs is influenced by the level of hardiness that possessed by parents. The characteristics of parents to rise from every problem regarding children with special needs and the management of stress parenting parents who have children with special needs. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between hardiness personality and the stress of parenting parents who have children with special needs. The subjects of this study were parents of children who were treated at one of the Autism Service Centers (PLA) on Jl. Arifin Ahmad in front of the PIP2B building as many as 70 parents, because of small sample, the method used is a method with saturated samples with the instrument used is a modified hardiness scale of the adaptation scale with a reliability coefficient of 0.876 and a parenting stress scale with a reliability coefficient of 0.702. Based on the results of the Pearson correlation analysis results (r) -0,381 (p = 0.005). Its means that there is a relationship between hardiness personality and parenting stress with a negative correlation direction. Its means that the higher the hardiness received, the more stressful parenting rends.
