Abstract

As the time evolves, the more women involves in working environment and builds their career, including in Indonesia. The increasing women's participation in economic activities are perceived to contribute to the family welfare. As working mothers have spent a lot of time completing assignments from the workplace, they still need to carry out both domestic and professional roles in one interaction. This research is a qualitative study, collecting data using Likert scale which aim to determine the influence of the hardiness personality of teenagers with working mother on the achievement motivation and the fear of failure within university students. The study uses data from 214 participants who are students of the Islamic University of Riau (UIR) using accidental sampling techniques. The data collection tool in the form of a hardiness personality scale consisting of 17 items, a scale of achievement motivation consisting of 26 items and a scale of fear of failure consisting of 24 items. Data were analyzed through Structural Equating Modeling (SEM) techniques using software of Mplus version 7. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that there was a significant relationship between fear of failure, achievement motivation and hardiness personality. The resulting model has a z-value greater than 1.96, which is 13,599 from the results of hardiness personality achievement motivation and 12,636 fears of failure to hardiness personality. It is also known that the variance or the contribution of hardiness personality variables to achievement motivation and fear of failure at 77.8% hardiness personality can predict achievement motivation and fear of failure.
