Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of water depth that is different from the peat base on survival and growth of the larvae of the fish (Anabas testudineus). The method used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications namely P0 = control, water depth of 40 cm without peat, P1 = water depth of 25 cm and thickness of peat 5 cm, P2 = water depth of 20 cm and thickness of peat 5 cm, P3 = 15 cm water depth and 5 cm peat thickness, P4 = 10 cm water depth and 5 cm peat thickness. The test fish used was 4-day-old puyu fish larvae with an average weight of 0.02 gr and an average length of 0.2 mm. Puyu fish larvae were obtained from semi-intensive spawning at the Fish Seed Center (BBI) Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University. The containers used were 15 aquariums measuring 40 x 60 x 35 cm and 40 x 40 x 90 cm. The results showed that the survival of the highest quail larvae in the P3 treatment was 82%. Growth in weight and length also in the P3 treatment of 0.10 gr and 0.8 cm respectively. Likewise, the highest daily growth rate is P3, which is 0.33%. Water quality parameters are: Temperature 25-32 0 C, pH 4-6, DO 4.2-5.1 mg / l and Ammonia 0.15-0.19 mg / l. Based on the results of the analysis of variance, it can be concluded that there is a very significant effect on the depth of water that is different from the base of the peat on survival and growth of the larvae of the fish (Anabas testudineus).
