Abstract
Design and Manufacture of Household Scale Pyrolysis Equipment Using Coconut Shell Waste Hermansyah Damanik, Dody Yulianto Mechanical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Riau Islamic University Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution 113 Pekanbaru 28284 Email: hermansyah04091995@gmail.com This study aims to create a household scale pyrolysis tool using a coconut shell to get the results in accordance with what was designed. In this test the test material must be completely dry so that when burning the smoke produced is more optimal. The components in this design consist of the frame, heater, reactor, conduit pipe, spiral pipe, condenser container, liquid smoke reservoir and the design tools such as stopwatch, scale, thermocouple, and thermometer. The test results will be tested every 1 hour for up to 4 hours, and from the tests that have been carried out liquid smoke obtained every 1 hour there are differences in the test results. From the analysis of the heat transfer coefficient the highest value is at the test time of 180 minutes which is 16.93 W / m2 while the lowest value occurs at the time of testing 120 minutes with a value of 15.411 W / m2 while the highest condensation heat transfer value occurs at 60 minutes with a value of 111,648. From the research results obtained the best results occur within 1 hour.
