Abstract

A long used well will decrease the production of oil. One of the main reason is because of the increasing water cut value (WC). It can be found in Well A#148 and A#150 in Field AWN. In Well A#148, total production until 2017 amounted to 658.233 STB with value of WC reaching 99% obtained from 2 productive layers. Whereas Well A#150 had a total production value of 687.807 STB from 5 layers from productive layers. However, the value of WC had reached a maximum of 100% so that the well was shut in 2015. But, this well still has an oil reserve which can still be reproduced amounted to 12.956,6 STB from Well A#148 and 11.417,2 STB from Well A#150. Therefore, a plan was made to conduct the production activities again from these wells. The right productive zone should be recognized before deciding thins idea. Evaluation of the well formation used a combination of cased holes log, named Pulsed Neutron Log or C/O logs from Halliburton company called RMT. RMT is a special equipment used to perceive water and oil distribution accurately and to measure the saturation of fluid formations which protected with casing. It is another equipment to substitute open hole log. Data obtained from the RMT log series was correlated using software from Halliburton company called Carboxsat which used to obtain the oil saturation value. According to the evaluation of the RMT log seriessupported by a combination of the previous open-hole log, Remaining reserves (RR) values, and the results of Carboxsat correlation, can determine a new zone of perforation interval in each well. In Well A#148, reperforation was carried out in two intervals, at the depth 3737-3740 ft and 3774-3779 ft. Whereas the Well A#150 was only at one perforation interval which was 3310-3314 ft. The WC values of these wells reduced successfully and it can reproduced oil for a few years.
